As a group of scientifically active researchers in several disciplines: animal science, health sciences and economy, the PWG offers a channel for cross-disciplinary and intersectoral dialogue to contribute to the unifying One Health approach.<\/p><p><strong>Motivation<br \/><\/strong>Poultry is an affordable and healthy source of animal protein, positively influencing human nutrition and health. An environmentally-, and animal-friendly poultry production requires continuously improved knowledge in all poultry-relevant scientific disciplines, including nutrition, physiology, genetics, immunology, health and welfare. The issues related to poultry production are defined but still left without efficient solutions.
